Bean curd in spicy chilli sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil
  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 2 tsp chopped fresh ginger
  • 3 tbsp chopped spring onions
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp tomato purée
  • 2 tsp chilli bean sauce
  • 1 tbsp Low salt soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp sesame oil
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 450 g firm bean curd

Method

1. Heat the wok and then add the oil, garlic, ginger and spring onions. Stir-fry for 30 seconds, then add the remaining ingredients except the bean curd. Simmer the
mixture for 5 minutes.

2. While the sauce is simmering, cut the bean curd into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes. Add the bean curd to the sauce and simmer for another 3 minutes and serve at once.
