Ingredients

  • 150 ml evaporated milk
  • 150 ml double cream
  • 4 tbsp drinking chocolate
  • 100 ml hot water

For the orange syrup:

  • 75 ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar

Method

1. Make the orange syrup by placing the fresh orange juice, and sugar in a saucepan. Bring to the boil and cook briskly for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously, until the liquid thickens and reduces. Set aside or make in advance and refrigerate until required.

2. To make the orange hot chocolate place the evaporated milk, double cream, drinking chocolate and hot water in a saucepan. Heat to just before boiling point, stirring continuously, and stir in the orange syrup.

3. Pour into elegant glass cups and decorate with whipped cream and broken orange chocolate matchsticks.
