John Torode's Asia Episode 2


John Torode is in the holy city of Amritsar in the Punjab region of northern India. Here he visits the Sikh pilgrimage site the Golden Temple where they provide free meals for as many as 100,000 people a day. Inspired and keen to learn more about Indian cuisine John is given a masterclass at the Taj Swarna hotel in how to prepare a classic Indian dish: Butter Chicken. From these experiences and his time touring the dhabbas, or roadside eateries, John undertakes a dish of his own: Dahl Makhani with his own version of Indian flatbread.
