Apple Turnovers

Ingredients

For the turnovers

  • 8 large Granny Smith apples
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 lemons, juice only
  • 125 g raisins
  • 1 pinches ground cloves
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 60 g artificial sweetener
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 6 flour tortillas

For the sauce

  • 250 ml vanilla soya milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 190 ml fat-free soured cream
  • 1 tsp artificial sweetener

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/gas 4. Peel and core the apples, slice them thinly and tip into a bowl with all the remaining turnover ingredients, except the wraps.

2. Spread the mixture out on a baking dish and cook for 30 minutes, until the apples are tender. Leave to cool and use to fill the tortilla wraps. Roll-up into cigar shapes.

3. Mix all the ingredients for the sauce together and chill for 5 minutes or so.

4. Pour the sauce over the turnovers and serve.
