Braised Sauerkraut with Paprika

This traditional Bulgarian side dish will add spice to any roast meal

Braised Sauerkraut with Paprika

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 600 g sauerkraut, finely chopped
  • salt and black pepper
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 300 ml chicken stock

Method

1. Heat the oil in a large oven-proof saucepan and when hot, add the sauerkraut and stir. Season with pepper and just a little salt.

2. Add the paprika and mix in well. Then add the chicken stock, bring to the boil and simmer for 30 minutes to cook.
