Ingredients

  • 55 g unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 180 g sugar
  • 7 tsp cornflour
  • 140 ml water
  • 1 litres milk

Method

1. Mix the cocoa and sugar together. 2. Dissolve the cornflour in the water and combine with the cocoa and sugar mixture in a medium-sized saucepan. Stir to a smooth paste. 3. Heat this mixture on a medium hob, continuously stirring it with a whisk. Gradually pour in the milk. Continue stirring as you bring it to a simmer. 4. Simmer for 10 minutes, stirring continuously, until the cocoa is thick, smooth and glossy. Serve warm in mugs or pretty glasses.
