Chargrilled Bananas with Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream

Chargrilled Bananas with Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 10 large bananas
  • 1 litres vanilla ice cream

For the toffee sauce

  • 500 ml double cream
  • 240 g butter
  • 240 g dark brown sugar
  • 100 ml black treacle
  • 80 ml golden syrup

Method

1. For the toffee sauce, put the cream, butter, brown sugar, treacle and golden syrup into a pan over a medium heat and bring to the boil. Lower the heat when the sauce reaches a sticky consistency.

2. Chargrill the bananas for 5-6 minutes until golden brown and drizzle the toffee sauce over. Serve with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream.
