Ingredients

  • 700 ml claret
  • 700 ml soda water
  • 250 g ice cubes
  • 4 tbsp caster sugar
  • 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 1 liqueur glass Maraschino liqueur
  • sprigs green borage

Method

1. If you have a deep silver cup, with handles, use it for making this drink. Combine all the ingredients for the claret cup in this large silver cup

2. Thread a white napkin through both the handles and pass the cup around to all your guests. Wipe the rim of the cup with the napkin after each person has taken a sip.
