Honey and ginger plums

Take a punnet of plums, some honey and a splash of wine and you have a deliciously simple compote for cold nights

Ingredients

  • 400 g plums
  • 2 tbsp clear honey
  • 3 tbsp green ginger wine

Method

1. Halve the plums and remove the stones.2. Place the green ginger wine and honey in a medium saucepan and stir over a low heat until the honey has dissolved.3. Add the halved plums, mix gently, then cover and bring to a gentle simmer. Leave to stew for 5-8 minutes, or until the fruit is tender. Serve warm, cold or at room temperature.
