  • 250 g macaroni
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 200 g cheese
  • 100 g North Atlantic prawns, cooked and peeled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.2 litres milk
  • 1/2 lemon, juice only
  • 1 handfuls dried breadcrumbs

1. Preheat the oven to 180C/gas 4. Cook the macaroni in a large pan of boiling salted water according to the packet instruction until al dente. Drain the macaroni and return to the pan, then stir the butter through to loosen it. Mix the cheese and prawns in with the pasta, season, and tip into a large ovenproof dish.

2. Pour the eggs, milk and lemon juice into a jug and use a hand blender to mix until you have a smooth custard. Tip the mixture over the macaroni, then sprinkle over the dried breadcrumbs. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
