Potato in Yogurt

Potato in Yogurt

Ingredients

  • 30 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 450 g potatoes, ooked, peeled and cubed
  • 300 ml natural yogurt
  • 300 ml water
  • pinch of turmeric
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • salt
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dark brown sugar
  • handful of fresh coriander, roughly chopped
  • green chillies, to taste

Method

1. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add in the cumin seeds and fry, stirring often, for 3 minutes.

2. In a bowl, mix together the yogurt, water, turmeric, chilli, coriander, sat ground cumin and sugar.

3. Add the yogurt mixture to the frying pan, mix well, and cook for 3 minutes.

4. Add the potatoes, fresh coriander and green chillies and simmer for 8 minutes.
