Potted shrimps

It's easy to make your own potted shrimps - the perfect accompaniment to hot toast for a simple yet elegant starter.

Ingredients

  • 150 g brown shrimps, peeled
  • pinch of mace
  • 1 pinches cayenne pepper
  • salt and black pepper
  • 75-100 g butter, melted

Method

1. Squeeze the shrimps dry of any moisture, then add to a mixing bowl with the mace and cayenne and season.

2. Fill the ramekins with the shrimps and press down firmly. Cover with melted butter and leave to cool. Serve with chunky bread or hot toast.
