Spiced almonds

Spiced almonds

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 200 g whole almonds
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp freshly ground pepper
  • ½ mild chilli powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Method

1. Heat the oil in a frying pan over a moderate heat and add the almonds. Shake the pan until they are just becoming golden.

2. Add the spices and salt, continuing to shake and roast until the nuts are wonderfully aromatic and golden.

3. Tip into a serving dish, and serve either warm or cold.
