Spiced Popcorn

This sweet and spicy homemade popcorn from Tana Ramsay makes a great snack

  • 2 tbsp wok oil
  • 225 g (un-popped) popcorn
  • 55 g butter
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 4 tsp salt
  • 4 tsp sugar


1. Put the wok oil into the biggest pan you have with a lid. Set over a high heat, add the popcorn and quickly put on the lid. Let the popcorn pop, shaking the pan frequently. You will hear it but don't be tempted to look. Once it has stopped popping - a couple of minutes or so - take it off the heat.

2. Melt the butter with the spices in another pan then pour over the popcorn.

3. Put everything into a plastic sandwich bag and shake well to coat the popcorn in the spicy butter.
